PURPOSE:To replace plural developing units through simple operation by uniting plural developing units which includes a developing tank, etc., and are provided at a specific position of a copying machine body to function for the development of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A developing device consists of two developing units 4a and 4b and is supported on a rail 15 provided in the copying machine body in its front-rear direction. Then, those developing units 4a and 4b have components, such as a developing tank, necessary for developing operation and performs developing operation individually. Further, a handle provided to the front surface of the device 4 is operated to slide the device on a rail 12,so that the device is easily drawn and extracted from a copying machine. Consequently, the device 4 is drawn out of the copying machine and inverted, and placed on the rail 12 and inserted, and then a developing unit at a position 4a firstly moves to a position 4b and a developing unit 4a at the position 4b moves to the position 4a. Consequently, a developing unit which is in copying operation during a copying process is easily replaced. |
