发明名称 FLUORESCENT CHARACTER DISPLAY TUBE AND ITS MANUFACTURE
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the size of a fluorescent character display tube to be reduced in such a way as making it have a diode structure having no grids by installing cathode conductors and thermionic emission parts which correspond to the concave areas of a cathode base plate and are located apart from it on the cathode base plate and making the thermionic emission parts face the anodes. CONSTITUTION:Each cathode conductor 12 consisting of a metallic film of tungsten or similar material and thermionic emitters 13 coated with an oxide 17 such as (Ba, Sr, Ca)O and connected to the conductor 12 are installed on a base plate 11 thereby making a cathode base plate. The thermionic emission parts 13 are located apart from the concave areas 16 of the base plate 11. An anode base plate is made by applying a transparent conductive film to a translucent base plate 21 and then subjecting the transparent conductive film to photoetching to form anode conductors 22 and then coating them with fluorescent material layers 23. After that, the cathode base plate and the anode base plate are placed facing each other while maintaining the internal space at a vacuum, thereby assembling a fluorescent character display tube. By the means mentioned above, it is possible to easily manufacture a diode-type fluorescent character display tube having matrices of cathodes and anodes.
