PURPOSE:A porous roller is composed of a porous cylinder and a cylindrical supporter, thus keeping sufficient strength of the whole porous roller, even when the porous cylinder is made thin, while the gap between the twisting roller and the other nearest part is kept constant. CONSTITUTION:The supporting material 24 is shaved on its outer surface to form an annular depression 26 so that a gap G is provided on the part corresponding to the part having pores 25a in the porous cylinder 25. The porous cylinder 25 is set to the outer surface of the supporter 24 so that the cylinder covers the annular depression 26 and fixed to the support 24 at its top and bottom ends. Staple fibers are sucked to the porous roller 12 by means of a sucking pipe 5 and the fibers sucked on the porous roller are twisted by the friction between the porous roller 12 and nonporous roller 10. |
