PURPOSE:To copy originals which are impossible to carry or detach by providing a reading device that reads an original to be copied and a transmitter that transmits read picture signals over the radio waves in a picture reading section. CONSTITUTION:Light 41 emitted from an original 31 is reflected by three mirrors 42 housed in a mirror section 31, passes through a lens 43 provided in a photoelectric converting section 33 and forms an optical image on the light receiving face of an image line sensor 44. The sensor 44 converts the linear optical image formed on its light receiving face into binary monochromatic picture signals 47 for every one picture element by one picture element from an end to another end. Converted signals 47 are synthesized with scanning controlling signals outputted from a scanning controlling circuit 48 that controls the timing of main scanning and sub-scanning and modulated by a modulating circuit 51, and sent to a recording device through a transmitting circuit 52 and an antenna 18 over the radio wave of, for instance, several tens - a hundred and several tens MHz.
