PURPOSE:To obtain a build-up welded part having excellent mechanical and anti-corrosive properties by using a filler rod of low carbon and nitrogen for welding a base metal. CONSTITUTION:A high-purity, ferritic, stainless clad steel 10 is formed by cladding a cladding metal 10B consisting of high-purity, ferritic stainless steel smaller in thickness than a base metal 10A, on one side of the sheet of base metal 10A consisting of carbon steel. The cladding metal 10B has the composition of <=0.025% C and 0.025% N. For welding the clad steels 10 to each other, the base metals 10A are first welded together with a welding metal of the same material as that of the base metal 10A, before welding their upper parts 12 by using an underlying filler rod having the composition of <=0.01% C and <=0.025% N, and the upper part of the part 12 are build-up welded so that one or more layers 13 are overlaid, by using an overlaying filler rod having the same composition as that of the metal 10B. In this way, the contents of C and N in the layers 13 are hardly increased during welding.
