NEW MATERIAL:1-Allyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylcyclohexan-1-ol. USE:Useful as a compounding material for perfume. Useful widely for perfume, soap, shampoo, cosmetic, etc., as a perfume composition having an aroma to remind of norpatchoulenol, a woody, grass foliar, or earthy perfume component in phachum oil. PREPARATION:2.2,6,6-Tetramethylcyclohexanone shown by the formula I is reacted with preferably >=1 equivalent, especially >=1.2 equivalent based on the compound shown by the formula I of a compound shown by the formula II (M is MgX, or lithium; X is halogen) in a solvent such as diethyl ether, etc., at room temperature - 100 deg.C, to give a novel compound.
