PURPOSE:To apply a thrust load in right or left directions as desired by arranging so that either a pressurized liquid of a prescribed pressure or a liquid under a negative pressure is supplied to a pressure chamber from a fluid pressure supplying section so that the rotary shaft is moved by a pressure receiving piston in right left directions. CONSTITUTION:When a reference thrust load set in the left direction (arrow mark A1) is applied to a turbine rotor shaft 1 under driving conditions, compressed air (arrow mark a') is supplied by the operation of an air compressor 25 from a conduit 26 into a pressure vessel 22. The pressure of the compressed air a1 at this time is monitored as the reference pressure by the indication of an air pressure meter 27. The pressure by the compressed air a1 set to the reference pressure acts on a pressure receiving piston 21 and thence to the turbine rotor shaft 1 as the thrust load in the direction of an arrow mark A1.
