PURPOSE:To enable Co-deposited iron oxide to be directly manufactured from alpha-FeOOH by forming a MeO2 deposit layer (where Me is a metal having a valence of 4) on the surface of acicular alpha-FeOOH, further forming a deposit layer containing Co ions, and thereafter performing reduction and oxidation. CONSTITUTION:Using acicular alpha-FeOOH as the raw material, a MeO2 deposit layer (where Me is a metal having a valence of 4) is formed on the surface thereof, a deposit layer containing Co ions is further formed, and thereafter reduction and oxidation are performed, thereby forming Co-deposited iron oxide. For instance, when NaOH is added to the aqueous solution of FeCl2 and sodium silicate is added and air is blown into after this solution is stirred, alpha-FeOOH will separate out. When hydrochloric acid is added to this solution, SiO2 is deposited on the surface of alpha-FeOOH. Then, when this solution is stirred after addition of the aqueous solution of CoCl2:FeCl2 and the precipitates are filtered and washed, three-layered grains of the mixed layers of alpha-FeOOH/SiO2/CoFeO4 and (CO, Fe)OOH. When this is calcined at 600 deg.C and then is subjected to reduction treatment under the H2 gas stream, Co-deposited iron oxide is obtained. |
