PURPOSE:To obtain an inhibitor against tumor cell multiplication and a tumor cell-killing factor in a concentrated state in high purity, existing specifically in blood platelets of human and animal. CONSTITUTION:Blood platelets are destroyed, extracted with an acidic aqueous solution or a water-organic solvent mixed solvent, and, if necessary, the extract is subjected to gel chromatography, to collect a fraction having 10,000-20,000 estimated molecular weight and an inhibitory action on tumor cell multiplication. Then the fraction is subjected to chromatography (e.g., e.g., ion exchange chromatography wherein active ingredient is adsorbed on cation exchanger and subjected to gradient elusion using aqueous solution of concentration gradient of neutral salt, etc.) to collect a fraction having an inhibitory action on tumor cell multiplication, 10,000-20,000 molecular weight, 9.0-10.0 isoelectric point, positive in ninhydrin reaction, being deactivated with trypsin, not being deactivated when it is brought into contact with sodium chloride injection under heating at 60 deg.C for 30min, 0.2 N hydrochloric acid for 60min and 70wt% formic acid for 30min at room temperature and to obtain an inhibitor against tumor cell multiplication and a tumor cell-killing factor. |
