PURPOSE:To secure the strong engine brake by shifting-down a transmission by an electronic controller by detecting the operations of an engine brake switch and an accelerating switch. CONSTITUTION:When engine brake is necessary, a driver stops the stepping-in of an accelerating pedal 11 and turns-ON an engine brake switch 10. An accelerating switch 11a is in turned-ON state, since the stepping-in quantity of the accelerating pedal 11 is zero, and the engine brake circuit consisting of the both switches 10 and 11a is turned-ON. When a processor 9a detects the turned-ON state of the engine brake circuit through an input port 9d, a normal traveling shift map accommodated into a ROM 9b is immediately switched to an engine brake shift map, and shift-down from the speed change stage at present is carried out, and the sufficient engine brake effect can be obtained. |
