摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To effect an inexpensive denitrification operation and simultaneous reducing of CO concentration in waste gas, by using iron ore catalyst to oxidize CO in waste gas following denitrification operation and by applying part of used iron ore after treatment of activation as denitrification catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Waste gas 2 generated in sintering furnace 1 is treated with electrostatic precipitator 3 to remove dust, and cleaned with lime water shower or the like in desulfurizer 4. Since this lowers the temperature of the waste gas 2, the temperature is raised to a specified value by exchanger 5, and the gas pressure is raised by blower 6. If the temperature is low, auxiliary furnace 7 is used to further raise the temperature. After addition of NH3, the waste gas is introduced into denitrification reactor 8 to conduct the denitrification to reduce NOx to H2. The waste gas after the denitrication is introduced into CO oxidation reactor 9 filled with iron ore, where CO is oxidized to CO2. The waste gas temperatue is raised when it goes out of the reactor 9, which is used for heating gas in the heat exchanger 5. Part of iron ore used in the reactor 9 is activated and used as catalyst in the reactor 8. Catalyst remaiing in the reactor 9 and one used in the reactor 8 is sent to sintering furnace 1 as raw material for iron manufacture.</p>
