PURPOSE:To obtain a foil wound transformer which has excellent cooling performance to prevent the extreme rise of the temperature at the top of a coil by providing a projection on the side wall of a cooling duct near the aperture of the cooling duct where an insulating fluid flows out by housing the coil wound with a foil type conductor and an insulating sheet around the cooling duct. CONSTITUTION:Two cylinder type projections 12 are provided in a cooling duct 10 vertically at a definite interval perpendicular to the direction of an insulating oil 8 flow on both sides of a duct spacer 9 which is a side wall abutted to the insulating oil 8 near the upper outlet of the cooling duct 10. That is, the projections 12 provided on the duct spacer disturb the flow 14 of the insulating oil in the cooling duct 10 to a disturbed flow 15 and disturb a temperature boundary layer formed on the surface of a coil abutted to the cooling duct 10. Consequently, the temperature distribution perpendicular to the flow of the insulating oil is made uniform and the temperature slope on the surface of the coil is made extremely great. Accordingly, the thermal flux to the insulating oil flowing in the cooling duct 10 from the top of the coil where Joule's heat is greatly generated can be made great. |
