In order to prevent the ingress of dirt and foreign bodies between a front vehicle seat and the vehicle outside support assigned to it, the cover of the vehicle outside support is widened by a covering part starting from its B-pillar end and extending locally beyond the delimitation of the outside longitudinal support on the passenger compartment side. The said covering part merges into a strip, which is resiliently supported on a lining of the seat cushion underframe of the assigned front seat.
