PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate and recover fine particles containing a radioactive metallic substance from contaminated muddy water without using an adsorbent or a coagulant, and to reduce the amount of radioactive waste.SOLUTION: An apparatus for recovering fine particles containing a radioactive metallic substance in muddy water includes: an air bubble contact tube 42 for causing water to be treated to contact with fine air bubbles; a flock aggregation tube 32 formed in a reverse funnel shape and for causing the fine particles containing the radioactive metallic substance, which floats after being attached to the fine air bubbles, to aggregate as flocks; a flock recovery tube 22 for recovering the aggregated flocks; a foam recovery tube 12 for recovering the fine particles containing the radioactive metallic substance, which floats after being attached to the fine air bubbles, by using foam; and a sedimentation tube 52 formed in a funnel shape and for causing large particles contained in the water to be treated to sediment as sediments and recovering the same from the bottom part thereof. The following processes are performed simultaneously in a single tank, which are: the recovery of the fine particles containing the radioactive metallic substance by using the foam; the recovery of the fine particles containing the radioactive metallic substance by using the flocks; and the recovery of the large particles containing almost none radioactive metallic substance and the treated water. |
