PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which enables easy attachment/detachment operation of a head unit, and to provide a printing method.SOLUTION: A printer 1 makes prints on a flexible recording medium while transferring the recording medium and includes: sub-carriages 62 having nozzles which discharge an ink onto the recording medium during printing; a carriage frame 61 detachably supporting the sub-carriages 62; and an assist mechanism 7 which assists attachment/detachment operation of the sub-carriages 62 when the respective sub-carriages 62 are attached to/detached from the carriage frame 61.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
