The invention relates in particular to a cable-type lift with permanent load compensation using a jack 26 and an oleopneumatic accumulator 30. The traction cable 4 which supports the lift is wound on a drum 6 of constant radius whereas the compensation cable 16 connected to the jack 26 is wound on a spiral track 12, so that the variation of its current winding radius compensates the variation of the gas pressure 32 in the accumulator.
