PURPOSE:To float uniformly a tape from the guide peripheral face while the tension of the tape lower edge side is strengthened by designing that plural small holes provided to the tape guide peripheral face are dense toward the lower end and increasing the air jet quantity from the small holes. CONSTITUTION:Since the tape guides 16, 17 winding a tape 6 on the peripheral of a drum 3 while being guided are tilted slightly in the arrow (c) with respect to the tape, a tension Tb at the tape lower edge 6b side is larger than that at the upper side. Since the plural small holes 29 provided to guide main bodies 27, 28 are densed toward the lower end, the air jet quantity from the small holes is increased toward the lower end. Thus, a strong tension at the tape lower edge is kept while the tape 6 is floated uniformly from the main bodies 27, 28 through the air jet, the tape is pushed surely along the lead 7 of the drum, stable tape running is attained and the recording/reproducing characteristic is improved.
