METHOD FOR PREVENTING BUCKLING OF HOT SLAB

PURPOSE:To prevent the buckling of a slab to be generated in stage of cross rolling down with a press by forming the hot slab into a rectangular cross section by using a vertical rolling mill and horizontal rolling mill then subjecting the slab to continuous cross rolling reduction by using the press. CONSTITUTION:The hot slab prior to pressing is continuously subjected to vertical rolling and horizontal rolling with a light draft by which the sectional shape of the slab is made rectangular. The above-mentioned slab is thereafter subjected to continuous cross rolling down by the press in the state of having no pressing force for preventing buckling. The buckling of the slab to be generated in the cross rolling stage of the press is thereby prevented.
