PURPOSE:To omit invalid bits and to manage logical space as many as possible by a table conversion buffer having the same size by inserting an assignment inhibition bit pattern into a tag part of an invalidated entry in a table conversion buffer. CONSTITUTION:When a logical address is outputted from a certain logical space, whether the pair of a logical page address 1 corresponding to the logical address of the logical space and the space ID 2 is stored or not is checked. If the pair is stored, address conversion to obtain a real page address 3 for the entry is executed, and in other cases, a table in a main memory is referred to execute address conversion. When one of processes is separated from the logical space and a new process is to be assigned to the logical space to which the separated process was assigned, the space ID 2 of all entries storing a space ID changing relation with the process from that of the logical ID to '0000' which is an assignment inhibition logical space ID by the table conversion buffer.
