PURPOSE:To use a heater for a long period of time without the heater getting dirty or a melting section being mixed with foreign matters by melting a bonding face without the heater contacting the faces of bumper beam and bumper face. CONSTITUTION:When the primary clamper 22 is lowered to hold the half body 5 of a beam 2 and the primary clamper 22 rises to raise the half body 5, a travelling material 30 is moved to left and positioned between the half bodies 5 and 6. The half body 5 and the heaters 33,... are lowered and the heaters 33,... are positioned between the plane 5a, 5b and 5c of the half body 5 and the planes 6a, 6b and 6c of half body 6 respectively. The planes 5a, 5b, 5c, 6a, 6b and 6c of half bodies 5 and 6 are melted by heat rays issued from the heater 33. Then, the half body 5 and the heater 33 are raised, and the travelling material 30 is moved to right to lower the half body 5 in order to press the melting planes 5a, 5b and 5c of half body 5 against the melting planes 6a, 6b and 6c of half body 6, and the half bodies 5 and 6 are integrally welded to form up the beam 2. |
