PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from scattering from a developing container by forming an air flow passage for discharging air from the developing container above the developing container and arranging a developer scatter preventing member between a development part and an agitation member. CONSTITUTION:The developing container 7 between the development part and the 1st agitating blade 6 is provided with the developer scatter preventing plate 12. The developer scatter preventing plate 12 is so shaped as to have a wide interval with a developing sleeve at a tip opening part on the upstream side in the rotating direction of the developing sleeve 1 and decrease in interval at the downstream side, and the interval with the developing sleeve 1 at the tip opening part is set >=3 times as large as the thickness of a developer formed on the developing sleeve. The developer scatter preventing plate 12 may be constituted decreasing interval toward the downstream side in the rotating direction of the developing sleeve and holding a constant interval with the peripheral surface of the developing sleeve 1 from the middle, and the interval between the developing sleeve and the most narrow part is preferably about 1.1-2 times the thickness of the developer. |
