PURPOSE:To execute a high recording density by setting each gap space between the film thickness of a magnetic layer in a magnetic recording medium and the two head types of a magnetic head for floppy in a prescribed relation. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording method executes recording, reproducing and erasing through the use of a magnetic recording medium with a magnetic layer <=1.5m in film thickness, which contains a hexagonal system tabular magnetic powder (average grain diameter is <=0.2mum) and a binder in a supporting body, and a light head as the first magnetic head and lead head as the second magnetic head or erase head as the first magnetic head and lead light head as the second magnetic head. In this method, t/a<=1 and b<=0 4 and (t) is 0.4-1.5mum is held when the film thickness of the magnetic layer is tmum, the gap space of the first magnetic head is amum and the gap space of the second magnetic head is bmum. Thus, a high recording density can be executed by using two head types of magnetic head for floppy, and magnetic recording media. |
