PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a platen light is weight, inexpensive and generating low noise, by providing an outer layer of a rubber elastic material on the outer periphery of a core member formed of a rigid plastic, each end of which are fitted with a shaft constituting of a cylindrical metallic rod. CONSTITUTION:An outer layer 3 formed of a rubber elastic material or a flexible plastic having about the same degree of elasticity as that of the rubber elastic material is provided on the outer periphery of a core member 2 formed of a rigid plastic having each end fitted with a shaft 1 consisting of a cylindrical metallic rod. The core member 2 may be made of any rigid plastic, e.g., polypropylene or rigid polyvinyl chloride. The core member 2 can be molded as one body with the shafts 1 by a plastic molding method such as injection molding. The outer layer 3 can be provided on the outer periphery of the core member 2 by a plastic molding method such as injection molding, in the same manner as in molding the core member. |
