The present disclosure relates to an aerosol-generating device comprising a heating element, a power supply for powering the heating element, and a controller operatively connected to the power supply. The controller is configured to determine the level of charge of the power supply, compare the level of charge of the power supply to a predetermined threshold charge level sufficient to apply a predetermined thermal cycle to the heating element, and prevent actuation of the heating element unless the charge level of the power supply is greater than the predetermined threshold charge level. A method of operating the device is also provided. |
