NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula RSi(OR<1>)3 (R is 1-chloromethylvinyl or 2-chloromethylvinyl; R<1> is 1-5C alkyl or alkoxyalkyl). EXAMPLE:[1-(Chloromethyl)vinyl]trimethoxysilane. USE:A moisture-crosslinking agent, a silane coupling agent and synthetic intermediate for other organosilicon compound. PREPARATION:The objective compound can be produced by reacting [1-(chloromethyl)vinyl]trichlorosilane or [2-(chloromethyl)vinyl]trichlorosilane with an alcohol or an alcohol having alkoxy group in the molecule preferably in a reaction solvent such as benzene, ether, etc., at 0-100 deg.C for 0.1-300hr.
