发明名称 ELECTROMAGNETIC REFINING METHOD FOR MOLTEN METAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To inhibit heat loss as well as erosion of firebricks by subjecting a metal to local heating at high temp. by means of sparks emitted at the time when molten metal under electrification is scattered by electromagnetic force and by circulating the metal by application of the potential energy produced at that time. CONSTITUTION:The metal level 29 of the molten metal is maintained in a position where it comes to electrode pair 23 and an electric current is impressed to the electrode pair 23. Then a magnetic flux is impressed by means of an electromagnet 24 in the direction perpendicular to the above electric current. An electromagnetic force is induced by the molten metal, and the molten metal is allowed to ascend along a ramp 25 and then to fall on the opposite side 26 to undergo circulation. An electric circuit is broken simultaneously with the above fall of the molten metal and sparks are emitted, so that the interface is locally heated and disturbed. Moreover, when the electric circuit is broken, the molten metal is returned to the original condition, and making and breaking of the circuit are thus repeated again.
