<p>PURPOSE:To escape the gas of the inside and thereby to inhibit the generation of bubbling of slag by introducing calcium carbide thereon and subjecting slag to high temp. by exothermic reaction and reducing viscosity. CONSTITUTION:Calcium carbide is used to prevent the bubbling of slag in case of desiliconizing due to iron oxide in a pig iron manufacturing process. The particle size of calcium carbide is preferably regulated to <=5mm because more time than the reaction needs is necessitated when the particle size is excessively large. In such a case that 100kg calcium carbide is introduced onto the surface of slag, 530kcal quantity of heat can be transmitted. All regions of a slag zone are not necessarily heated to prevent the bubbling and are heated is stops. When 30% slag zone is heated and the degree of formation for slag is regulated to 5%, 1,400kg melted pig iron per 1kg calcium carbide can be treated.</p> |
