PURPOSE:To shorten an operating time and to provide an excellent response characteristic against varying ghost by detecting a ghost for every field, and executing ghost-elimination control for every field corresponding to the said detection. CONSTITUTION:In a difference calculating part 3, a sample value is read out from the storing part 7 of a D/A conversion part 1 through a controlling part 12, the resulting value is held in a holder 13, and a difference value is obtained by subtracting the said value from the sample value of the following sampling point by a subtractor 14. And the resulting value of the said subtraction is sequentially stored in a shift register 15. Since these difference value approximate the ghost in terms of steps, they are used in controlling a transversal filter 5. At the time of the transferring of the sample value to the tap load memory 17 of a tap load holding part 4 by a controlling part 16, the transversal filter 5 is controlled in accordance with the content of the memory 17.
