PURPOSE:To permit the heating (cooling) operation of a simplified indoor unit upon stopping the cooling (heating) operation of an indoor unit by a method wherein a latent heat accumulating type heat exchanger, having direct heat exchanging function and heat accumulating function, is provided between the indoor unit and an outdoor unit as well as the simplified indoor unit. CONSTITUTION:A simplified indoor unit D, having no compressor, is equipped with a heat exchanger 15 and a fan 16. A latent heat accumulating type exchanger C is consisting of a heat accumulating vessel 8 constituted of a double tank structure. Latent heat accumulating agent 9, having a high melting point and accumulating the latent heat and sensitive heat upon solidifying-melting respectively in a constant temperature, and the latent heat accumulating agent 10 of low melting point are sealed into respective tanks. An absorbing and heat dissipating tube 12 for sealing refrigerant, constituting one part of a refrigerant pipeline connecting an indoor unit A to an outdoor unit B, and an absorbing and heat dissipating tube 13 for sealing heat medium, which connects the simplified indoor unit D to the heat exchanger 15, are provided in the tank while a plurality of plate fins 11 are arranged orthogonally in parallel while contacting the fins with the outer surfaces of these two kinds of tubes.
