PURPOSE:To select an appropriate copying process in accordance with a latent image on an original, and to obtain a copying image having a good quality, by combining the operation and non-operation of a color process means, a monochromatic copying means, and a network pattern exposing means, and also, selecting an erasion area and the presence/absence of the erasion as well. CONSTITUTION:A color separation latent image which is formed first on a photosensitive body 22 has a picture pattern part latent image and a sentence part latent image, and in this color separation latent image, the sentence part latent image is erased by an eraser. Subsequently, a network pattern generator 28 is driven, and a network pattern is projected to the picture pattern part latent image which is erased and left. Thereafter, as for the picture pattern part latent image, a developing process for using a yellow color toner, a cyan color toner, and a magenta color toner is repeated. Subsequently, when an ND filter FO is provided in the exposure optical path, and the slit exposure of the photosensitive body 22 is executed, an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original 0 is formed and the picture pattern part latent image is erased by an eraser 26, and the remaining sentence part latent image is visualized by a development with a black color toner.
