PURPOSE:To provide a coating compsn. which is suitable for use in coating members such as steel structures to impart corrosion resistance thereto and allows the number of coating operations to be reduced and the thickness of coating film to be satisfactorily controlled by one coating, by incorporating a color pigment in an amount sufficient to adjust a contrast ratio in a resin. CONSTITUTION:A resin such as an alkyd resin, an acrylic resin, an epoxy resin, etc., is blended with a raw coloring material composed of 2.0-15.0% (by weight on a solid basis; the same applies hereinbelow) white titanium oxide base and at least one member selected from the group consisting of 0.01-8.0% chrome yellow, 0.1-4.0% yellow iron oxide, 0.1-8.0% titanium yellow, 0.1-8.0% chrome orange, 0.1-0.4% chrome vermillion, 0.1-4.0% brown iron oxide, 0.1-8.0% chromium oxide, 0.1-8.0% Al powder, 0.01-8.0% carbon powder and 0.01-1.5% org. blue pigments and optionally 1.0-7.0% light stabilizer in such a proportion that the contrast ratio in a dry film thickness of amu is 0.96 or above and that in the thickness of (a-30)-amu (wherein a is 50-120mu) is 0.90 or below to obtain the desired colored coating compsn.
