PURPOSE:To reduce a fault location estimation by the operator by providing a means storing polling result information from nodes and a means estimating a faulty location even when a terminal equipment gives no reply at polling. CONSTITUTION:A node 2a inquires about the presence of a data transfer request by applying polling to each terminal equipment 21 according to a command of a management center. At the time of the absence of reply from a terminal equipment 21 is detected and a fault is recognized, polling result information is sent to the management center via a management center node and a data highway 3 and the polling to other terminal equipment is processed. At the time of a CPU 11 recognizes a fault of a terminal equipment, a polling result information storage job 122 on the main memory device 12 is started and the polling result information from the node 2a is stored and when its end is recognized, the CPU 11 transfers the control to a fault location estimate job 121. Thus, a true fault location is estimated via the polling result information, the result of estimation is displayed and the fault location estimation is reduced.
