PURPOSE:To maintain a scanning direction appropriately, and to keep an image forming state in a good condition even when a size is the one unable to hold exactly a transferring material, by enabling the transferring material to be moved to a fixed printing part in the scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:When the width size of the transferring material in the vertical direction of the image forming direction is smaller than that of a copying machine main body 11, the transferring material is introduced to a position facing oppositely with a thermal head 19 and an ink ribbon 24, by a carrying belt 3. The carrying belt 3 is driven at a constant speed, thereby, no abnormal state in the moving speed of the transferring material is generated. Also, since an aperture part 10 is formed at the position corresponding to the carrying belt 3, the transferring material can be introduced to an accurate position against the thermal head 19, and the inclination of an image, or the omission of a part of it, can be evaded.
