PURPOSE:A drug, consisting essentially of leaves of mugwort (Artemisia princeps Pampanini, etc.) and useful for preventing and treating gill disease of sweetfish. CONSTITUTION:A drug for gill diseases consisting essentially of leaves of mugwort. Although raising of sweetfish has become popular in recent years, various diseases occur in raising sweetfish and gill disease is one thereof. The gill disease is a generic name of diseases occurring in the gill of sweetfish but the cause thereof is unknown. The leaves of the mugwort are recognized to be effective as a drug efficacious for preventing and treating the gill disease. The leaves of the mugwort used are leaves of Artemisia princeps Pampanini or Artemisia montana Pampanini of the family Compositae and contain cineole, thujone, sesquiterpene, etc. The leaves as a dried material in an amount of about 200-600g/day based on 1t sweetfish are preferably blended with a feed and given to sweetfish. |
