PURPOSE:To obtain a silicone compsn. which readily gives a cured article which has reduced surface tack, does not form any void within it and has excellent physical properties, by blending a specified organopolysiloxane with an org. peroxide. CONSTITUTION:A silicone compsn. consists of an organopolysiloxane (A) of formula I (wherein R<1> is an unsubstituted or substd. monovalent hydrocarbon group having no aliph. unsaturated group; R<2> is an alkenyl group; 1.8<a<2.2; 0<h<0.1) and an org. peroxide (B) of formula II (wherein R<2> is an unsubstituted or substd. monovalent hydrocarbon group; and n is 1, 2 or 3) Examples of the peroxide (B) are o-trimethylsilylbenzoyl peroxide, 2,4-di(trimethylsilyl)benzoyl peroxide, etc. Usually the organopolysiloxane contains a reinforcing filler to enhance the mechanical strengths. Fine silica power having an average particle size of 1-20mu and a specific surface area of 100-400m<2>/g as measured by BET method is used as the filler.
