In the case of a device (1) for positioning an electronic test unit (3) on a unit (4) for testing electronic components, having a stand (5), on which the test unit (3) can be moved between two supporting arms (31), which project horizontally from the stand (5), utilising five degrees of freedom, it is intended to achieve a simpler construction and a shorter distance between the test unit (3) and a joint which contains the axis (51) which is directed horizontally and along the supporting arms (31). This is achieved in that, between the supporting arms (31), a crossmember (33) is supported on the supporting arms (31) such that it can pivot about an axis (35) directed transversely with respect to the supporting arms (31), and in that the test unit (3) is mounted on a supporting part (48) which is supported on the crossmember (33) such that it can pivot about a radial axis (51). <IMAGE>
