<p>A powder compression molding machine equipped with a pair of rollers (4, 5) for compression-molding a powder such as glass raw materials, which is characterized in that the outer side portions of the rollers (4, 5) consist of replaceable segments (8, 8, ...) and the outer side portions where molding recesses (11) of the segments (8, 8, ...) are formed are made of carbide. Since the molding recess (11) is made of carbide having high hardness and high abrasion resistance, the life of the molding surface can be extended. When the molding surface is worn out, only the segments (8, 8) have to be replaced without the necessity of replacing the roller itself. Furthermore, since carbide which is expensive and has a large specific gravity is used in only the outer side portions of the segments (8, 8, ...), a highly reliable powder compression molding machine can be obtained without incurring an increase in weight and cost of production.</p> |
