PURPOSE:To enable an ink jet recording superior in printing-dot shape and fixing properties in a printing portion, by setting an initial contact angle of a recording drip with a body to be record to not less than a specific value and setting a contact angle of the remaining recording drip with the body to be recorded to less than the aforesaid specific value. CONSTITUTION:When an initial contact angle of a recording drip with a body to be recorded is set to 90 deg. or more and a volatile solvent in a recording liquid is partially or all evaporated, a contact angle of the remaining recording drip with the body to be recorded is determined to less than 90 deg.. An ink consisting of only a non-volatile solvent becomes inferior in fixing properties and generates a rubbing-off if a penetration speed of the solvent into a paper is low; it penetrates into the irregular voids between fibers in the paper and results in the dots ununiform in shape if the penetration speed is high. Therefore, the volatile solvent is must be contained in the recording liquid. With a recording liquid of an initial contact angle of less than 90 deg. with the paper, the wetting properties of the recording liquid to the paper is enhanced, thus the sizing effect of the paper is eliminated. If the contact angle is still 90 deg. or more when most of the volatile solvent in the recording liquid has been evaporated, inferior recording liquid-to-paper wetting properties deteriorate the fixing properties. |
