The novel float material take-off channel for waste water (effluent) settling tanks has an arc cross-section with an inlet slot above. It can be pivoted about its longitudinal axis, a positioning drive automatically following the water level variations being provided. The positioning drive has a float and a two-armed leverage to the direct proportional pivoting path.
