A device for continuous monitoring of a remote heat line for moisture is described, whereby measuring loops, which are spaced out along the longitudinal axis and connected to a signalling conductor, surround the internal tube. The measuring loops are made from tensile metal straps, whereby between the tightening straps and the internal tube a sleeve has been arranged consisting of a material which in the dry condition is an electrical insulator whose insulating strength is reduced in the presence of moisture.
