The invention relates to a roofrack for motor vehicles, especially a case support, having two transverse supports which can be fastened at a distance from one another to the longitudinal supports of the roof of the motor vehicle and each have a longitudinally displaceable case rail, which can be fixed in a transport position by means of a fixing device to the associated transverse support and which can be pivoted at the end of the transverse support about a pivot into an inclined loading position which is situated to the side of the motor vehicle. In order to simplify the design of the roofrack, the pivot is fastened to the case rail and can be displaced on the transverse support, and the fixing device can be actuated on the loading side.
