PURPOSE:An electro rheological fluid having high performance such as increase in viscosity in proportion to intensity of impressed electric field, obtained by dispersing fine powder of a copolymer consisting of 2-acrylamido-2- methylpropanesulfonic acid, etc., into an oil. CONSTITUTION:2-Acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid shown by the formula is copolymerized with another acrylic monomer (e.g. acrylamide, etc.) in a molar ratio of 20-2:1, preferably 10-4:1, the prepared copolymer is made into fine powder having 0.5-10mu particle diameter, which is dispersed into an oil to give 30-40wt% solid content concentration. |
