PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of static marks without causing a sweating phenomenon by using a polymer derived from repeating units of a specified monomer. CONSTITUTION:A polymer derived from repeating units of a monomer represented by formula I is used. In the formula I, each of R1 and R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl or the like, W is H or -COOR4, X is 1-6C alkylene, 6-12C arylene or the like, Y is 0-12C bivalent group having at least one group such as -O- or -SO3-, m=0 or 1 and Q is a UV absorbing group. The polymer may be a homo- or copolymer of the monomer having a UV absorbing group. The polymer is used as latex in a hydrophilic colloidal layer of a silver halide photographic sensitive material such as the protective surface layer, an intermediate layer or a silver halide emulsion layer. |
