A print head assembly for printing a print medium onto a workpiece through a printing screen which includes a screen element having a pattern of printing apertures therein, the assembly comprising: first and second carriages which are in use movably supported on respective ones of first and second guides; and first and second print head units which are mounted in adjacent, parallel relation to and between the carriages, wherein the print head units each comprise a print head actuator and a support member which extends between respective ones of the carriages and is movable vertically by the print head actuator; wherein the support members each have a printing element attached thereto and the printing elements together define a cavity therebetween, and the support members are disposed in spaced relation, such that print medium is introduced into the cavity from above and between the support members, whereby a volume of print medium can be introduced into the cavity which extends across the cavity and in contact with the printing elements.
