A robotic manipulator arrangement comprises a first robotic manipulator (12) which is driven along a linear track (15) above a work table (16) and has at least one other degree of freedom. The arrangement also has a second manipulator (30) which can grip a workpiece and can rotate about two mutually orthogonal axes (X, Y) lying in a plane parallel to the worktable (16).
