PURPOSE:To ensure convenient correction into a simple sentence with a document producing device by specifying presence of a sentence larger than the prescribed length contained in a document. CONSTITUTION:The characters forming a document are inputted from a keyboard 1 via character keys and stored in a text memory 4 via a control part 8. These characters are also displayed on the screen of a CRT display 3. An operator operates a cursor key to set it at the head position of a first sentence of the document and then pushes a check key 2. Thus a check function part 7 checks whether or not a sentence larger than the prescribed length is contained in the document. If so, the sentence is specified by the cursor.
