PURPOSE:To reduce the current consumption of a magnetic resistor element while securing the stable judgement of a detection circuit, by making the width of the drive pulse of the magnetic resistor element shorter than that of the drive pulse of the detection circuit and overlapping the stable states of both of them. CONSTITUTION:Electronic device parts such as a quartz vibrator 8, MOSIC 7, a magnetic resistor element 9 or the like are mounted on a printed circuit board 6. A stator coil block 4 made of a magnetic material is guided by the pins 25, 26 vertically planted in a base plate 2 and fixed by screws. The width of the drive pulse of the magnetic resistor element 9 is made shorter than that of the drive pulse of a detection circuit detecting the output signal of said element 9 and the stable state of the magnetic resistor element 9 overlaps with that of the detection circuit. Electric energy is supplied to MOSIC 7 from a battery 1 and the quartz vibrator 8 oscillates. An oscillation signal drives a stepping motor to move an hr hand, a min hand and a sec hand.
