PURPOSE:To accurately output tooth-brushing pressure and to display the same by a numerical value, by converting the tooth-brushing force detected by a piezoelectric element to an electric signal and subsequently inputting said signal to a computer to apply operational processing thereto. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric element 3 is adhered to the back surface of the fine part between the brush part 1 and handle 2 of a toothbrush and the surface thereof is covered, for example, with silicone rubber 4. When the brush part 1 is brought into contact with the teeth of an examinee and brushing/cleaning operation is started, the tooth-brushing pressure is detected by the piezoelectric element 3 to be outputted as an electric signal through a lead wire 6. The tooth-brushing pressure detected in the form of the quantity of strain by the detection part 10 containing the piezoelectric element 3 is amplified by a measuring part 11 and subsequently converted to a digital value by an A/D converting part 12 to be inputted to an operational processing part 13 to perform predetermined operation. The comparing values of the tooth-brushing pressure, average tooth-brushing pressure and number of cleaning times obtained by the operation with proper tooth-brushing pressure are displayed on a printer in an output part 14 and monitored by a CRT monitor part 17 and, further a judge part 18 can also judge whether the brushing/cleaning operation during brushing/ cleaning is adequate. |
