PURPOSE:To prevent an active material from softening and falling-off by using an organic macro-molecule compound as a gelatinizing agent of an electrolyte in order to utilize the fact that a part of said macro-molecule compound is subjected to hydrolysis or sulphonation to perform volume expansion in sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION:An organic macro-molecule compound is used as a generatinizing agent. Said macro-molecule compound causes volume expansion by being subjected to hydrolysis or to sulphonation in sulfuric acid. Utilizing said volume expansion, proper pressure is applied between both electrode plates in order to have an effect to prevent an active material from softening and falling-off. Further, if mutually molding powdered grains to be brought to a loosely combined condition, a short-circuit between electrodes owing to resinous electrical precipitation of lead can be prevented. |
