PURPOSE:To contrive to quicken the translation by using a data base file so as to translate a Japanese sentence translated once into a Chinese sentence immediately. CONSTITUTION:A Chinese original sentence and a Japanese sentence translated once are filed in the data base file 7 in the order of a phonetic symbol and pronunciation. For example, in inputting a Japanese sentence such as 'Toast! For your good helth!', a Japanese word conversion file 8 is in use and the Japanese character pattern is generated by using the Japanese conversion file 8 at the Japanese word generating means 5 and displayed on a CRT 2. A Japanese original comparison means 6 reads sequentially a Japanese character pattern from the data base file 7, compared with the converted sentence, and when the result of comparison is coincident, the coincident Chinese sentence is printed by a KANJI (Chinese character) printer 3, and if dissident, an error message is displayed on the CRT 2.
